Why is Chicago, a city with a population around 2.8 million, impoverished when it comes to the field of landscape architecture? Are we just a city saturated in lawn chemicals? Does anyone know what landscape architecture is? This meetup group is open to anyone curious about the field of landscape architecture and how it relates to the Chicago cityscape. You don’t have to know anything about this design field to engage in our meetups. Great diversity is preferred in order to explore these …

LIVE CHAT too! Have you lived here for a while but never had the chance to get out and see the things and places in Chicago that visitors from other cities have seen? New in town and want an excuse to check some "must-see" things off the list? Just looking for something fun to do but didn't really want to do it all by yourself? Be a tourist in our own city! I had always spent the time to check out other city's offerings when I traveled on business or for pleasure, and about 10 years ago, th …
… And remember, the product is actually you, and the other 30 fabulous Chicago singles attending - why should we pay $40 for that. Our aim is simple - we want to inform our members of cheap or free spots at speed-dating events, and/or ensure that you're enjoying a free or inexpensive drink or appetizers while you there. This is not as hard as you might think. Unlike other singles events, speed-dating companies must almost exactly balance the number of men and women attending. It's not uncommon(f …

I think this City needs a group dedicated to contemporary, progressive fifty and over folks who are relevant and always ready to enjoy all that Chicago has to offer. Music, plays, parks, festivals, restaurants, community action, exploratory walks are just a few ideas. We are too young to stop experiencing life and too experienced to be shut out!
Lets get together, get to know one another and have fun! I started the group because I am more active than most of the people I know. Events include activities like nature walks, eating out, cultural events and whatever else you would like to suggest. All ages welcome, single or coupled, this group is for everyone that has an endless list of interests like myself. I look forward to meeting you and a …

There are a ton of things that I want to do, and I thought it would be more fun to do with a group. Some of the upcoming fun to expect? Tours... via boat, bus, or foot-walking tours.. Architectural tours, ghost and paranormal tours, visits to cultural events, see the city 's plethora of world class museums, wander thro …

In 1958, a group of women, all related to architects, formed the Women's Architectural League to promote awareness and appreciation of Chicago architecture. Over the years membership has broadened to include women in the design professions and others interested in architecture. WALF members organize tours designed to deepen appreciation for both historic and contemporary Chicago architecture. Tours frequently feature buildings under construction or recently completed, led by architects involved …
This group is for people that want to concerts while meeting other people that enjoy live music. I strongly favor shows at smaller all general admission shows, but other suggestions are always welcome.

Our group organizes casual rides for lesbian identified women. We discover different parts of Chicagoland with the emphasis on fun, exploration and light exercise. Rides will more often than not be in the slow range of 8 to 12 mph and will in most cases use off street trails, streets with bike lanes or side streets designated as bike routes. Occasional limited use of secondary roads and moderately busy city streets may occur. If more athletically inclined members wish to step up and lead individ …

Hello! Everyone, My name is Diana and I am a survivor of sexual abuse and assualt. I live in the Chicagoland area and I work in the social work field and I have found that there is little support for those who have been through what I have been through and I want to change that. This group will be peer lead and will consist of an advocacy component. The reason why I want to start the Chicago Women Support and Advocacy Meetup Group for Survivors of Sexual Assualt and Abuse is because I would like …
Allowing is the key to unlocking the door to your well-being. Most of us try to control whatever we can and as a result, actually resist what has always been there. We truly do not understand allowing! This group used to be called a Law of Attraction group. But I realized through my interactions with students and clients that you do not need someone to teach you about the Law of Attraction just like you do not need someone to teach you about the Law of Gravity! What is helpful though, is a …
